He's a Hirst fan and English, which comes into the equation I think. I argued with him that Hirst is only manufacturing something and because he calls himself an artist and his product art, that is his justification for calling it art. Now what if a business or corporation did the same thing. Oh no! That's not art!</p> <p>It is a hilarious double standard that people have. They can't even see that they've been sucked in by Hirst and his ilk. It is precisely this play of semantics that he's capitalizing on... because it's concept art.</p> <p>Well if anybody can have a concept then anybody is an artist... except for businesses and corporations. So one can immediately see the political thinking behind this. If you look at Hirst and his original supporters who made him, you'll see that it is all a conservative piss take on this liberal non discriminatory propaganda.</p> <p>The original concept artists have been out marketed by people who have been working in this field much longer than they, advertisers and marketers.</p> <p>"<i>Making money is art, and working is art and good business is the best art.</i>" Andy Warhol. <p>It is the ultimate homage to crass god of unadulterated consumerism. The production line as an artform was done by Warhol, who was originally advertising designer. When that became a tired fad, the only route left to go was to make consumerism the artform.
