Visions in the Mischtechnik

Visions in the Mischtechnik

Laurence Caruana is once again running his Summer painting seminar “Visions in the Mischtechnik” in at the Eco-village of Torri Superiore, Italy. This year’s seminar promises to be a special event, since Laurence Caruana will be co-teaching with Amanda Sage and Andrew Gonzalez, while being joined by other artists such as Daniel Mirante, David Heskin and Aloria Weaver – and the anticipated 12 -15 students. Each summer’s gathering has become a creative confluence of talented spirits pursuing their visions in paint.

Laurence and Amanda, who both worked as assistants to the Austrian master painter Ernst Fuchs, will be teaching his classical MischTechnik to a new generation of Visionary artists, while Andrew will teach the more modern method of airbrushing.

The three week seminar is held in the Italian eco-village of Torri Superiore, a labyrinth of spiralling stairs and narrow passages built from the local limestone in 1300.

Evenings are spent in creative collaboration and exploration, while weekends include two expeditions: one to Damanhur’s Temples of Humankind, which offer a maze of sculpted and stained-glass chambers dug in the Valchiusella hillside, and the other to Ernst Fuchs‘ home atelier, where he will reveal his latest works and advise the participants on the intricacies of the MischTechnik.
