It seems I’ve been making a bit of a habit lately to first sketch up the figures I want to paint. I use this firstly as figure drawing practice for it’s own sake, but then secondarily, it becomes preparatory practice for the painting. I have been progressively moving further towards freehand drawing with out any guiding lines. I can definitely say the practice is adding up and I am now working from fewer measurement and working more from sight.
The idea for this painting is still not fully developed, so I’ll see what becomes of it. I hope you return to see the final result.
