Articles and various curiosities pass my eyes on the various social media sites that I vainly attempt to ignore. Every once in a while there are a few gems that turn up, keeping me hooked.
“The Colorful Stories of 5 Obsolete Art Pigments” provides some curious short stories about some rare or no longer available oil colours that were once all the rage in their own time.
- Maya Blue
- Tyrian Purple
- Lead White
- Lapis Lazuli
- Dragon’s Blood
- Mummy Brown
- Indian Yellow
- Scheele’s Green
Obviously there are more than the five colours as mentioned in the title. I can only assume the author can count and became excited by further suggestions and updated their article. Just to prove the point that they can count, there is a second article on the same topic, “More Vibrant Tales of Obsolete Pigments“.
